Back Safety: Office Work Settings

Description

Do you work in an office? While it may seem safe, offices carry risks—including back injuries. These injuries can occur suddenly or develop over time due to poor work habits and improper ergonomics. Left unchecked, they can lead to lost workdays, reduced efficiency, safety risks, mood changes, or even early career departure.

This training teaches you to:

  • Identify and avoid hazards that contribute to back strain

  • Design and interact with your workspace using proper ergonomics

  • Recognize early signs and symptoms of back injury

By understanding these risks and implementing preventive strategies, you comply with OSHA’s General Duty Clause, minimize ergonomic hazards, and protect yourself and coworkers. Safe, purposeful work habits not only prevent injuries but also keep your office productive and efficient.
